ALARMASK
Striving to achieve a society that is largely stress free, Alarmask is a discursive product that aims to help people recognize their stress.
Many people are stressed, yet they often dismiss or ignore it. Only when they notice those around them being stressed do they become more conscious about managing it. As such, Alarmask puts stress out into the open where it is visible to everyone.
The wax mask is used in a glass booth, where users scream into, crushing it after. It crumbles and falls to the floor, accumulating the more it is used, displaying the physical representation of the amount of stress people are in.
The wax mask represents a facade people put on themselves, and using it prompts users to see their stress. It forces them to stop hiding their stress and to symbolically rip apart their problems as a call to action.
