NEXT GEN INTERACTION

Darvis

There are many issues young adults with autism go through, namely unemployment, no housing, loneliness and many more. Additionally, those who suffer from depression have a much tougher recovery road than that of a neurotypical.

The overarching problem for these issues is communication. People on the spectrum often lack the ability to empathise with anyone during interactions. For instance, they may not be able to pick up body language and social cues. Therefore, they do not know when to start, continue or end an interaction.

Darvis has the ability to read facial gestures and body language. It also provides real time feedback to the user that prompts him to either start, continue or end an interaction. To do this, it incorporates softwares developed by MIT university and university of Rochester based on research conducted on reading facial gestures and body language that could be translated to a specific emotion.
