NEXT GEN PLAYFULNESS
TOTS
TOTS is a set of inclusive toys designed to help visually impaired (VI) children overcome their fear of unfamiliar food. Due to the absence of visual stimulus, VI children are often more aversive towards foreign objects and textures.
TOTS promotes an explorative and playful attitude towards food. Through the use of auditory feedback and tactile cues, the toys
present a new sensory experience to the dining table. It guides the user through three key actions: smashing, stirring and self-feeding.
This project is in collaboration with National University Hospital Eyecare Centre, Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, Guide Dogs Singapore, AWWA, Dialogue in the Dark and BlindandShine.
